Subweb Permissions

Use Unique permissions This gives the subweb its own unique permissions on the subweb, rather than giving it the permissions set for the parent Web site. You can add users on different roles. Use Parent permissions This gives the subweb the same permissions as the parent Web site.

Add a User to the Roles

You can add users on the Author, Collaborator or Browser roles. You do not have to add any administrative users to the Author or Collaborator roles because Admin users already have permissions including those of Author and Collaborator roles. All administrative users of the site (Admin role) can view, add, and change all server content and manage server settings and accounts.

Users and Roles

Users The default user and all users created on "User Management" on this control panel. The group admins@userxxx is on the Admin role by default. All administrative users of the site are the members of the group admins@userxxx. The group browsers@userxxx is on the Browser role by default. The web anonymous user (browser) is a member of the group browsers@userxxx. Roles Admin role - View, add, and change all server content; manage server settings and accounts. Author role - View, add, and change pages and documents. Collaborator role - View pages and documents, view and contribute to discussions. Browser role - View pages and documents. Note: Only the Author, Collaborator and Browser roles are editable.

Notes

When you enable unique permissions, a copy of the parent Web's user accounts and roles remain with the subweb. You can then edit any accounts and roles and add new ones as needed.
